3 Healthier Treats To Try This Summer!

Want to enjoy a sweet treat without the guilty aftertaste?

Striving for that perfect beach bikini body while the summertime treats are all too tempting?

 

Don’t deprive yourself from scrumptious treats!

 

Here is a list of 3 healthier snacks to enjoy this summer!

 

 1. Yogurt-Fruit Parfaits

This parfait makes a quick and easy snack during the work day and is also a healthy dessert after dinner. It has little ingredients, with a lot of elegance!

 

Ingredients:

  •  ½ (8 ounce) package reduced-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 2 (6 to 8 ounce) cartons raspberry fat-free yogurt with sweetener
  • 1½ cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1½ cups chopped, pitted fresh peaches
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds or walnuts, toasted

 

Prep: 15 min

First thing is to beat the cream cheese in a bowl, best to use and electric mixer on medium speed until the cream cheese is smooth. Progressively beat the yogurt.

Mix in the strawberries, blueberries and peaches in a separate bowl (large preferred).

Spoon approximately half of the fruit into 4 parfait glasses. If you don’t have parfait glasses, no problem!

Simply use any glass you have about 10-12 ounces wide. Then, spoon half of the yogurt mix on top of the fruit and continue to repeat layering. You can then top with nuts, sliced almonds or walnuts.

 

That’s it! Simple. Easy  Healthy!

 

2. Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream

Frozen bananas are the main component to make this “ice cream” but without the cream! This is a sweet dessert with help from the peanut butter while adding no sugar to the mix.

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen medium bananas, peeled and halved
  • ¼ cup natural peanut butter
  • Optional: shredded, unsweetened coconut to add as a garnish

 

Prep: 5 min

In a food processor, put together frozen bananas and peanut butter. Pulse the ingredients until they are almost completely smooth. Stop to scrape down sides if need be.

You can garnish your delicate dessert if you wish with coconut to give it a little added flavor

 Voila!

 

3. Vegan Watermelon Fruit Pizza

Ready for this tasty dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free, soy free, gluten free treat?!

This last dessert offers delicious watermelon topped with coconut yogurt (non-dairy) and berries, perfect for a cool and refreshing snack, anytime!

 

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsweetened coconut-milk yogurt alternative
  • 1 teaspoon pure maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large round slices watermelon, about 1-inch-thick, cut from the center of the melon
  • ⅔ cup sliced strawberries
  • ½ cup halved blueberries or blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons toasted unsweetened coconut flakes

 

Prep: 10 min

Bring together the non-dairy coconut yogurt with maple syrup and vanilla in a small bowl.

Spread about ¼ cup of the yogurt mixture that we created earlier over each sliced round of watermelon.

Cut into 8 wedges (just like a pizza…wink wink).

Top your delicious fruit pizza with strawberries, blueberries and or blackberries!

Sprinkle coconut to add as another topping and you’re done!
